Fawzia Aref Biography
She was born in Iraq in 1945, and has participated in many film, TV and stage productions. She graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Acting in Baghdad in 1967, where she studied under the late great theater director Ibrahim Jalal, who gave her a leading role in his famous play The Flood. Fawzia was one of the most famous members of the Modern Artistic Theater Troupe, where she performed many plays, including Antigone, and The Merchant of Venice.
Then she moved to the National Acting Troupe, and became a main member of it, and with it she presented several works, most notably The Eagle and Eyes of the City (1983).
