Valter Vieira da Silva Biography
Valter Vieira da Silva (1948–2022), better known as Golias (due to his imitation of comedian Ronald Golias), can be considered a great icon when it comes to LPs. He never left Downtown of Vitória-ES (Brazil) since 1964; was a high demand Disc Jockey during the 60’s and 70’s New Year's Eve and Debutante parties; and in 1971 realized his big dream opening the first Golias Discos store, which quickly became a local cultural landmark.
He closed the store in 1998 due to the sudden drop in sales with the emergence of CDs and piracy, but a year later started again and continued selling vinyls until his last day.
