"13 Reasons Why" starts production on Monday. The first table read is scheduled for today.

The stars have started arriving on set:

Everything should still happen on schedule. But last night, Deadline reported that the eight core cast members were still renegotiating their contracts.

Here's more on that from Deadline:

"We hear Dylan Minnette (Clay Jensen), who has emerged as the sole lead following the departure of original star Katherine Langford, is seeking a Season 3 salary in the $200,000 per episode range, while Brandon Flynn, Alisha Boe, Justin Prentice, Christian Navarro, Miles Heizer, Devin Druid and Ross Butler are looking for about $150,000 an episode."

The starting salaries back in Season 1 were reportedly in the $20,000 to $60,000 range, except for Dylan Minnette who was reportedly paid around $80,000.

Since the series became an instant hit -- and instantly controversial -- it's no surprise the cast would reach for more money.

Deadline also added a difference between this show and "Stranger Things," another Netflix breakout. The "Stranger Things" adults will reportedly get paid as high as $350,000 an episode for the third season, with the kids getting around $250,000 an episode. But there will only be eight episodes in Season 3. "13 Reasons Why," on the other hand, is scheduled to have 13 episodes. So the "Stranger Things" crew may make more per episode, but the "13 Reasons" stars get to pick up five more paychecks.

One interesting note in Deadline's story said Paramount TV/Netflix were apparently aiming to pay the main cast (except for Dylan) $135,000 an episode for Season 3, with the pay rising to $150,000 in Season 4.

So ... they're planning a Season 4?!

The actors were all expected to still show up for work during salary negotiations, if they weren't resolved by the time of the Season 3 table read.

"13 Reasons Why" Season 3 will arrive on Netflix in 2019.
