2019 BAFTA Awards Nominations Led by 'The Favourite'
Talk about playing favorites. The 2019 BAFTA Award nominations certainly had one in "The Favourite."
In an wholly expected turn of events, the period dramedy racked up 12 nominations, including Best Film, Best British Film, Director, Original Screenplay, Actress (Golden Globe winner Olivia Colman) and Supporting Actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz).
Vying against "The Favourite" for Best Film are "BlacKkKlansman," "Green Book," "Roma," and "A Star Is Born." Blockbuster awards contender "Black Panther" did not make the cut.
Another snub was the exclusion of Emily Blunt as Best Actress for her role in "Mary Poppins Returns."
The 2019 BAFTA Awards take place February 10.
