Could "Happy Endings" get its very own happy ending?

ABC is considering a reboot/revival of the sitcom, which ran for three seasons from 2011 to 2013.

"I will never say never; I'm hearing whispers," ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told The Hollywood Reporter.

"That is a dream of a lot of people at ABC. I'm hearing that there's a remote possibility of something. It's at the very beginning [stages]."

"Happy Endings," created by David Caspe, followed a group of friends played by Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton, Adam Pally, Damon Wayans Jr. and Casey Wilson.

The show was not a ratings powerhouse but received a ton of buzz and critical acclaim. When ABC cancelled it, there was an uproar online, and producers Sony TV tried to shop it to other outlets, to no avail.

But now, it seems that ABC is regretting its decision (deemed an extremely bad one by Vulture).

Burke noted, "'Happy Endings' was certainly one of my favorite ABC shows."

A revival/reboot would fit in with a new strategy to expand the network's comedy brand. Burke told THR she is optimistic that Caspe would be involved should a revival go forward, though Caspe recently left Sony TV and signed a deal with Universal Television.

Three years ago, when asked about a potential revival, Caspe said, "If someone would actually let us do it the real way, then everyone would want to do it."
