How he met his new series.

Jason Segel is returning to TV for the first time since "How I Met Your Mother" ended. AMC announced his new anthology series, "Dispatches From Elsewhere," during the TCAs on Saturday.

AMC also announced renewals for three more series: Both "Better Call Saul" and "Fear the Walking Dead" were renewed for their fifth seasons, with "McMafia" renewed for Season 2. "The Terror" had already been renewed, and announced with a new setting.

Back to Jason Segel. He both created and will star in "Dispatches From Elsewhere," which follows "a group of ordinary people who stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life" and "come to find that the mystery winds far deeper than they ever imagined."

Jason Segel: "I am thrilled to be telling this story at AMC. I truly could not imagine a better team and a more perfect home for this material."

AMC programming president David Madden: "AMC has a proven history of finding shows that rise above, in every sense, and we think 'Dispatches from Elsewhere' will be an incredible addition to that club. Meanwhile, "Better Call Saul" Season 4 premieres Monday, August 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC. "Fear the Walking Dead" will return for the second half of Season 4 on Sunday, August 12.
