Anne Hathaway as Barbie Draws Strong Response From Amy Schumer, Twitter
Amy Schumer's departure from "Barbie" left the starring role available for Anne Hathaway to step in, and the comedian had a strong reaction to her replacement.
No, this isn't the start of a new feud. There's no need to proclaim yourself Team Schumer or Team Hathaway, because it sounds like the previous would-be star of the movie is Team Hathaway herself. Schumer commented on reports that Hathaway is in talks for the role, and she had good things to say after first being jokingly dismissive.
"Hathaway smathaway," she wrote, alongside an Instagram photo of herself, "jkjk she's perfect!! Can't wait to see it!"
There were some people who had the same mindset as Schumer and were equally excited about the news.

Anne Hathaway is replacing Amy Schumer as "Barbie". A much better choice. #Barbie

However, that wasn't the case for everyone. A lot of people were very adamant that Hathaway was not right for the part.
Okay Anne Hathaway, imma let you finish, but @tyrabanks a.k.a. Eve is the official Barbie and will always be #LifeSizepic.twitter.com/hQQioYvvfE

Anne Hathaway, do not take the live action Barbie role.

Barbie... as in the doll? And they want ANNE HATHAWAY?
How does that casting even make sense. :/— Cassilynn???? (@CupcakeNova) July 26, 2017
Anne Hathaway may replace Amy Schumer in the "Barbie" movie. It's all part of the studio's plan to get you to hate the "Barbie" movie.

Hathaway shouldn't let the haters get her down, though, because life in plastic, it's fantastic. She'll show us when the movie hits theaters in 2018.
