DC's upcoming "Aquaman" standalone flick is shoring up its cast, and has just added the film's antagonist to the ensemble.

According to Deadline, actor Patrick Wilson has been tapped to play ORM, also known as Ocean Master, opposite Jason Momoa's title character. ORM is Aquaman's human half-brother, who Deadline likens to Marvel's Loki (a.k.a. Thor's half-brother), though according to the trade, he's much more powerful than that mischievous god. Per DC Comics lore, ORM is "a rival for the throne of Atlantis, and wreaks havoc on the high seas and beneath them when he doesn't get his way," Deadline reports.

Wilson has been carving out an eclectic career for himself, after getting his start in more dramatic roles ("Little Children," "Angels in America"). He's since dipped his toes into the horror genre (he's currently starring in the "Conjuring" series, in addition to headlining the "Insidious" franchise), as well as quirky television roles (a starring role on anthology series "Fargo," an appearance on HBO's "Girls"). Adding a superhero role to his resume seems like the next logical step for the versatile actor.

In addition to Wilson and Momoa, "Aquaman" also stars Amber Heard as Mera, the titular hero's love interest. The James Wan-directed feature hits theaters on October 5, 2018.
