'Bachelor' Nation Reacts to Arie Luyendyk's Shocking Finale Choice
"The Bachelor" Arie Luyendyk Jr. found love alright — with two different women. And he ended up breaking both their hearts and "Bachelor" Nation is roasting him for it.
In last night's season finale, Luyendyk wavered between the final two, Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham. He ended up sending away a heartbroken Lauren and proposing, on bended knee, to Becca. Happily ever after? Not so much.
In a shocking move, Arie then broke up with a sobbing Becca in front of cameras after admitting he still was in love with Lauren and wanted another chance with her. All three will reunite in tonight's special edition of "After the Final Rose."
This has happened before on "The Bachelor," in season 13, when Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft, only to dump her on television later and get back together with Molly Malaney. (Of course, Jason then married Molly and Melissa moved on and married Tye Strickland, so all's well that end's well.)
Jason was excoriated over it, not just for breaking Melissa's heart but doing it so publicly, and now it's Arie's turn to be be vilified. Also coming under fire are host Christ Harrison and the producers for milking the breakup footage.
Here what "Bachelor" Nation is saying:
Yo, Arie is a real life meme!! #TheBachelorpic.twitter.com/uG8fhAndc9

Juan Pablo: I'm the most hated bachelor in history.
Arie: hold my beer #TheBachelor— kaitlyn (@kaitchristine3) March 6, 2018
This is disgusting The Bachelor shouldn't be airing all of this. Arie's just trying to save face and no one wants to watch Becca go through this. #TheBachelor

Wouldn't you consider learning from the mistakes of those before you - maybe call and ask what NOT to do...like filming the breakup ???????????? #TheBachelor ????
