Ben Affleck's New Batman Tease Has Fans Freaking Out
UPDATE: Ben Affleck's tease (below) was originally assumed to be for "Justice League," but according to TheWrap it's for his own future solo Batman movie. As the site put it, "Deathstroke will, in fact, be the main antagonist of the Batman standalone movie he's directing, TheWrap has exclusively learned from an individual with knowledge of the situation." They added that "Deathstroke will square off against Batman on the big screen in the movie titled 'The Batman.'"
Ben Affleck is truly the Batman DC needs right now, 'cause he knows how to keep the fandom hyped for "Justice League" and beyond. Your boy just dropped a video tease on Twitter, showing what appears to be Deathstroke and ... Mr. Freeze?
What is he doing? What is he telling us?
Here's the tweet:

The replies are great. The takeaway seems to be that Deathstroke will be a villain in "Justice League," but we should always save room for trolling. It's not like anyone has really spelled out what's happening here. Steppenwolf has already been confirmed as the main villain of "Justice League," but there could be a B villain.
Who is Deathstroke? As Collider explained:
"For those who are unfamiliar with the character, his real name is Slade Wilson, and he first appeared in The New Teen Titans in 1980. He's been a villain that's been all over the DC Universe and he's gone toe-to-toe with Batman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Flash, Green Lantern, and more. He's been on the supervillain teams Injustice League, Suicide Squad, Secret Society of Super Villains, H.I.V.E., Checkmate, Team 7, and the League of Assassins. And yet for all of his affiliations and grudges, he doesn't have any superpowers, or at least no more superpowers than someone like Batman. He's really smart and he's a good fighter."
Their guess is that Deathstroke is a cameo role, with Batman facing him early in the film, as a possible hold-over for later use in another DC Extended Universe film. But don't take that to the Batcave, it's just a theory, for now.
"Justice League" will be released November 17, 2017.
