Candace Cameron Bure Joins 'The View,' Joy Behar Returns
It's been rumored for weeks, but now, news of "Full House" star The View" is official -- and a familiar face will also be joining her at the table.
ABC announced on Tuesday that Bure would be one of the venerable talk show's new, permanent panelists, along with Joy Behar, who was one of the original "View" hosts when the show launched in 1997, and left the program in 2013. That twosome will be joined by a third new co-host, Paula Faris, who currently co-anchors ABC's weekend edition of "Good Morning America."
Bure, who's appeared on "The View" as a guest host several times over the past few months, is expected to lend a more conservative viewpoint to the program, and said in a statement that she was "thrilled" to join the show on a permanent basis.
"I am honored to be a new addition to such a strong group of bright and opinionated women, and I look forward to sharing this exciting journey with viewers new and old," Bure's statement said.
Comedian Behar cracked wise in her own statement, relishing her return to the show she helped build.
"Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in," Behar's statement said. "... But I'm happy to be back home. And I'm looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary and the Donald are in the spotlight."
"The View," which also features panelists Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symoné, and the recently-announcedMichelle Collins, will be back for its 19th season starting on September 8.
