After announcing which new shows would be added to its schedule for the upcoming TV season, CBS has also renewed four additional series.

The news broke during the annual network upfronts presentation in New York City, with Code Black" and "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" will be back for sophomore seasons next year. Long-running reality series "Undercover Boss" has also been renewed for an eighth season.

Despite so-so ratings, Matthew Perry comedy "The Odd Couple" will also be back, securing a season three renewal. That means that CBS will have two former "Friends" stars on its airwaves next year, following the pickup of Matt LeBlanc sitcom "Man With a Plan."

There's no word yet about the fate of freshman series "Limitless" and "Rush Hour," which are currently on the renewal bubble, though TVLine reports that "Limitless" has a better shot than its fellow based-on-a-movie show. The former's renewal chances are about 50-50, the site says, while the latter is "as good as dead."

The four pickups announced on Monday join the following already-renewed shows: "The Big Bang Theory," "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "NCIS: New Orleans," "Survivor," "The Amazing Race," "Blue Bloods," "Hawaii Five-0," "Elementary," "Scorpion," "Madam Secretary," "Criminal Minds," "Life in Pieces," "Mom," and "2 Broke Girls." As for "Supergirl," it will see a season two, but is moving from CBS to The CW.

That large crop of returning series, plus the sizable stable of new shows waiting in the wings, should make for a crowded 2016-2017 season. Viewers will have to wait until CBS releases its full schedule to plan out their viewing (or DVR programming) accordingly.
