Charlize Theron Reveals 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Prequel Scripts Have Already Been Written
There's no need to convince Charlize Theron that she should do a "Mad Max: Fury Road" followup.
The actress is more than willing to reprise her role as Imperator Furiosa. Speaking specifically of a prequel, she recently told Variety she'd "love to" delve into her character's background. In fact, she revealed that there are already scripts.
"There were three scripts," she said to the publication. "They were written as backstories to Max's character and to Furiosa's character."
Unfortunately, that doesn't mean a prequel is a guarantee. Theron pointed out that it is really up to director George Miller whether he wants to move backward or forward ... or anywhere at all.
"At the end of the day, this thing lives and breathes with George," she said. "I think Warner Bros. knows that. We are all waiting for him to show us the way."
Theron seems ready for more "Mad Max," whatever the direction, so hopefully Miller will choose a path soon. In the meantime, Theron has been keeping busy with other action flicks, including "The Fate of the Furious" and "Atomic Blonde," both of which could bring her back for followup films as well.
