Get Your First Look at Chris Pine as Robert the Bruce in 'The Outlaw King'
But how's his Scottish accent? Netflix has released the first photo of Chris Pine as Robert the Bruce, the legendary hero who took up Scotland's quest for independence after William Wallace.
The historical epic "The Outlaw King" reteams Pine with his "Hell or High Water" director David Mackenzie, who is, appropriately enough, Scottish. It boasts an awesome cast, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Nocturnal Animals"), Tony Curran ("Sons of Anarchy," "Gladiator") and Stephen Dillane ("Game of Thrones").
"The Outlaw King" will tell how Robert the Bruce fought to regain the Scottish crown, only to be defeated in a surprise attack and made an outlaw by the English King. (Cue Oscar Isaac shouting, "I declare him an OUTLAW!")
Principal photography is just now getting underway in the U.K. The production will film in historical locations in Scotland including the last known resting place of the Scottish legend's remains, according to Deadline.
'The Outlaw King' will be released sometime in 2018.
Robert the Bruce was played in "Braveheart" by actor Angus Macfadyen, who urged William Wallace (Mel Gibson) not to alienate the Scottish nobles.... and you remember how that went.
