Clint Eastwood and his "American Sniper" star Bradley Cooper are likely reteaming for a new film, except this time, Eastwood will be in front of the camera as well.

THR reports that Cooper is in talks to join the veteran actor-director in "The Mule," in which Eastwood will play a man who unknowingly becomes a driver for the Mexican drug cartel. (It's based on a true story!)

Here's the official long line: "Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive — easy enough but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel, and also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates."

Eastwood, who turns 88 on May 31, hasn't acted since 2012's "Trouble With the Curve."

Cooper would play the DEA agent, that is, if he has time.

The "American Hustle" actor is currently wrapping up his directorial debut, a remake of "A Star is Born," in which he stars with Lady Gaga. He's also prepping a biopic of composer Leonard Bernstein that he will also direct and star in.
