Colton Underwood Is Your Next 'Bachelor'
Colton Underwood will be the next to give out roses as "The Bachelor" in January.
ABC announced on "Good Morning America" that the coveted position of "The Bachelor" would go to Underwood, who placed fourth on Becca Kufrin's season of "The Bachelorette" and also appeared on "Bachelor in Paradise."
Underwood, a 26-year-old former football player, memorably opened up to Kufrin about being a virgin. He had also previously been involved with Tia Booth, Kufrin's friend and former "Bachelor" contestant. Booth seemingly torpedoed his chances with Kufrin by telling her friend that she still had feelings for Underwood.
Kufrin went on to choose Garrett Yrigoyen and the two remain engaged.
Underwood and Booth reunited on "Bachelor in Paradise," but their relationship was a roller coaster. Ultimately, they broke up for good on the Sept. 3 episode.
Underwood edged out fan favorites and frontrunner picks like runner-up Blake Horstmann and third place finisher Jason Tartick.
Undoubtedly, Underwood's virgin status will be a major storyline in the upcoming season.
"That's one thing that I took pride in on both seasons: just being true to who I am," he said during the announcement. "I think it took all of that to get to where I am at now, and know who I am as a person and know what I want in a life partner."
