Cross Another 'Once Upon a Time' Season 7 Fan Theory Off the List
One down, nine million more theories to go!
"Once Upon a Time" fans are always looking for connections, to guess what new Disney, fairy tale, or other fictional characters might be coming to the show next. After the Season 6 finale, many fans thought Moana might be introduced in Season 7 -- and for the record, we're still on board with that theory. However, every so often someone wonders if the show will bring in characters from "The Chronicles of Narnia," and when the Season 6 finale introduced adult Henry's daughter as Lucy, some fans wondered if that was ABC's version of young Lucy Pevensie of the Narnia series.
It's not a bad theory. But it got shot down in TVLine's Ask Ausiello spoilers:
Question: I loved the Once Upon a Time season finale. Could they be doing Narnia next season? If not, I'm surprised by the name Lucy. But I could totally be reading too much into it. —David
Ausiello: Looks like you answered your own question at the end there, David. Matt Mitovich asked the Once creators if there is anything to be gleaned from the naming of Henry's daughter, and they came back with a decisive "no."
Yeah, that might've been a reach, but it's telling that the showrunners gave a solid "no" answer, when they did not give a decisive "no" to the Moana theory. Instead, when a fan asked Entertainment Weekly about Lucy's mother as Moana, co-showrunner Adam Horowitz dodged in his answer, deflecting that the portal doors weren't necessarily meant to be seen as clues, they were "more of a symbolic thing" to show the large scale of the universe. But he didn't say "no."
When Season 7 premieres, three OG characters -- The Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla), Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle), and Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) -- are said to "return but with new identities in a new city, facing a new curse." They'll join forces with a grown-up Henry Mills and his daughter Lucy on "an epic quest to once again bring hope to their world and ours. Along the way, fairy tale characters new and old search for true love, find adventure and once again take sides in the struggle of good against evil, as classic tales are once more twisted and reimagined."
OUAT Season 7 premieres this fall on ABC.
