'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Season 9 Gets Premiere Date, Teaser
This is pretty, pretty good — HBO has announced the premiere date for "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 9.
Larry David's comedy returns for a 10-episode new season Sunday, Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. after an absence of six years. Cast members Cheryl Hines, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, and J.B. Smoove are all reprising their roles. "Gilmore Girls" star Lauren Graham is also on board for a multi-episode arc.
HBO also unveiled the first teaser, which echoes David's Julius Caesar-like statement when Season 9 was announced last summer: "He left. He did nothing. He returned."
The show stars David as an over-the-top version of himself — cranky and belligerent, easily offended and easily offending, and a master at creating awkward situations.
The Season 8 finale left with Larry offending Michael J. Fox (playing a version of himself) and traveling to Paris to avoid the fallout. Perhaps we'll return to a French-speaking, beret-wearing Larry ... or not.
