Daniel Craig Says He Wants to 'Move on' From Bond Movies
Daniel Craig has been playing bullet dodging, martini-sipping secret agent James Bond for nearly 10 years, but now Daniel Craig is ready for last call.
After a grueling eight months of filming “Spectre,” the 24th installment of the franchise, he tells Time Out London that he cannot imagine continuing the character anytime soon, even though he’s contracted to reprise the character again.
“I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” he says of shooting another 007 film. “I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”
Craig admits that he hasn’t “given it any thought” about immediately exiting the role, but he can’t see himself suited up for “at least a year or two.”
“I’m not in discussion with anybody about anything,” he says. “If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.”
In "Spectre," Bond uncovers the criminal syndicate SPECTRE: Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism and Revenge. And he finds that an enemy has a curiously close connection to his past.
Also starring, Naomie Harris, Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux, “Spectre” arrives in theaters on Nov. 6.
