Dwayne Johnson Boards Disney's 'Jungle Cruise' Movie
Welcome to the jungle. Again. Dwayne Johnson will star in "Jungle Cruise," the latest Disney ride to become a movie, THR reports.
That's at least the third jungle-themed movie for the action star: "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" opens this December and 2003's "The Rundown" had him running through the Amazon jungle. (Can we include "Moana" and "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island"?)
The actor will also be producing the Disney movie through his Seven Bucks company. He's been attached to the project since 2015, but it only now has a greenlit script, according to THR.
If there isn't a "backside of water" joke in "Jungle Cruise, The Movie," we're out of there.
Johnson returns with the rest of the "Fast and the Furious" crew in "Fate of the Furious," which opens April 14.
Among his other potential projects, a big-screen version of the '70s kids' series "Shazam," "Doc Savage" and a remake of "Big Trouble in Little China."
