E! Misidentifies Sophie Turner at Golden Globe Awards, Twitter Explodes
Will the real Sophie Turner please stand up?
Maybe Sansa Stark has another new identity on "Game of Thrones" - or maybe E! News just misidentified actress Sophie Turner at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards. During E!'s red carpet pre-show, a beautiful red-haired girl (see screen shot above) was on the red carpet, identified as Sophie Turner, who plays the red-haired Sansa on HBO's show. Fans immediately noticed that Sophie was looking ... different. So different that GOT-ers took to Twitter to point out to E! that that girl was not Sophie:
Awks.... @ENews mislabeled someone at the #GoldenGlobes as @SophieT

Okay so E! just labelled someone who was absolutely not Sophie Turner as Sophie Turner. Not all redheads are the same person? #goldenglobes

@somewitch did Sophie Turner get a whole new face and not tell anyone or...?

That awkward moment that probably wasn't Sophie Turner on E! just now. #GoldenGlobes

E! is listing someone as Sophie Turner who is NOT Sophie Turner. Isn't their ONE JOB knowing who the celebs are? #goldenglobes

There are so many more tweets in the That's Not Sophie conversation, but it's a good question to ask that if that wasn't Sophie Turner, who was it? She looked gorgeous, either way, and she's getting a lot of attention. And on the upside for Sophie, she was a hot topic on Twitter during the Golden Globes, so she wins too! (And as we know, in the game of thrones, you win or you die.)
Update 1: It looks like the lovely lady shown is actually Shelby Steel, who has appeared in Showtime's "Shameless" and will be in the new series "Powers."
Update 2: Sophie Turner - the real one - tweeted her reaction later on Sunday night:
#TransformationTuesday But alas it's not a Tuesday. Nor is that me. @eonline I thought we were tight ???? pic.twitter.com/QR4SI6Gwki
