Elizabeth Banks is returning to the director's chair.

The actress-slash-director's latest project is "The Grace Year." She'll direct and produce the film, Deadline reports. The project is an adaptation of the upcoming Kim Liggett novel of the same name.

The book is a thriller and it takes place in a misogynistic world where girls are banished during their 16th year in order to be purified. It centers on a 16-year-old named Tierney James, who questions the society she lives in. The story is described as an examination of "the complex and sometimes twisted relationships between girls, the women they eventually become, and the difficult decisions they make in-between."

It remains to be seen whether Banks will have a role in the film. She has both directed and starred in multiple films, including the second two "Pitch Perfect" movies and the upcoming "Charlie's Angels" remake, among others.

Banks is set to produce with her Brownstone Productions colleague Max Hendelman as well as New Leaf Literary & Media's Pouya Shahbazian. Liggett and Allison Small are set to executive produce, while Sara Scott and Lexi Barta oversee for Universal.

The film does not yet have a release date.
