First 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' Trailer Is Bad for Jack Sparrow
Death is coming straight for Captain Jack Sparrow in the first teaser trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," aka -- and much shorter to write -- "Pirates of the Caribbean 5."
Johnny Depp's Cap'n doesn't make an appearance in Disney's very dark trailer. Instead, we follow ghost pirate Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), who asks Henry (Brenton Thwaites) to find Jack and please relay the not-terribly-welcome message that "death will come straight for him." We don't get to see Henry's response, but they may have an accord.
Henry is described as a young man trying to reconnect with his father, but a curse prevents him from doing that. Since Orlando Bloom is meant to return as Captain William Henry "Will" Turner Jr./Davy Jones, we may be able to put those pieces together on our own.
Here's the synopsis from Disney:
"Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea...including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas."
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is scheduled for release May 26th, 2017.
