'Florida Project' Star Wins Critics' Choice Award: 'We Should All Get Ice Cream'
Brooklynn Prince won Best Young Actor/Actress at last night's Critics' Choice Awards, but really, she won the whole show.
The 7-year-old star of "The Florida Project" was stunned to hear her name called over fellow nominees Jacob Tremblay ("Wonder"), Dafne Keen ("Logan"), Mckenna Grace ("Gifted") and Millicent Simmonds ("Wonderstruck").
As she accepted her award, she gushed, "This is such a big honor, all the nominees are great. You guys are awesome, we should go and get ice cream after this!"
She added, "God, I would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity, and I would like to thank [director] Sean [Baker] for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be his Moonee."
In the film, she plays a girl who lives with her mother in a Florida motel, where she's befriended by kindly motel manager (Willem Dafoe, who's also getting his share of awards recognition).
Watch her winning speech below:
She also got to meet some big stars, including Saoirse Ronan, Angelina Jolie and posed adorably with Tremblay (who won Best Young Actor/Actress in 2016 for "Room").
