'Game of Thrones': Ramsay Gets Rickon Stark and Osha as a 'Gift'
UPDATE: Yes, as expected/feared, Ramsay got Rickon Stark, and Osha, as a gift in "Oathbreaker." And there's a very sad answer to how he could confirm it was really Rickon. #RIPShaggydog. Read our full recap.
Original post:
"Game of Thrones" villain Ramsay Bolton is like that rival sports team that just keeps winning and winning, and even when you think they're about to be taken down, they get a bad ref call in their favor.
In Season 6, Episode 2, Ramsay got the bad news of a new baby brother/rival heir. He turned that frown upside down by 1) stabbing his own father to death, then 2) having his dogs kill both his baby brother and his stepmother. Problem solved! The new Lord Bolton looks to continue his infuriating winning streak this Sunday, May 8 in Episode 3, "Oathbreaker," which has this synopsis:
"Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift."
The Bran past stuff is interesting in a different very spoilery way, but what is Ramsay's special Mother's Day gift? Well, fans are worried that it might be Rickon Stark, the youngest member of the Stark boy band, who has been on the run with Osha since Season 3.
As the Telegraph surmised:
"The last time we saw Rickon, wildling Osha has agreed to deliver him to the home of Jon Umber ( a loyal Stark supporter, also known as 'the Greatjon'). Fans suspect that the man seen speaking to Ramsay in the trailer could be Umber's son. If so, does this mean that the Umbers have finally decided to turn their backs on the Starks and fully endorse the Bolton cause?"
That would be oathbreaking. It's possible. We'll see. It would be good to see Rickon and Osha again, but not so good to see another Stark fall into the hands of Ramsay.
By the way, actor Art Parkinson is now 14, and looks way different than he did when we last saw Rickon. Here he is in May 2015:
Question: How would the characters even be sure they had the right Rickon, when he'd look so different after all of that time? Just because he's with Osha (Natalia Tena)?
Here's the Episode 3 trailer:
