The 'Game of Thrones' Scene Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Found 'Wrong on Every Level' Isn't What You'd Guess
In the seven seasons of "Game of Thrones" we've seen so far, there have been numerous scenes that could be classified as "so weird and wrong on every level." For star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, though, one in particular sticks out.
Given that the actor plays Jaime Lannister, half an incestuous set of twins, it's a little surprising that the scene he named doesn't feature his taboo relationship with his sister. Neither was it the one in which his onscreen brother killed their father after finding him in bed with his lover, one involving torture, nor any number of other solid contenders. Instead, it was Robin Arryn (Lino Facioli) breastfeeding well beyond his early childhood that Coster-Waldau found especially bizarre.
"It was so weird and wrong on every level," he recently told Variety.
We won't argue that it was unorthodox, but late weaning seems like it should pale in comparison to some of the other things "Game of Thrones" characters have gotten up to over the years. The Seven Kingdoms have been the site of truly horrifying behavior, after all. But hey, everyone reacts differently to different things, so he's entitled to his opinion.
Coster-Waldau also revealed to Variety that he's already filmed his last "Game of Thrones" scene. It seems safe to say then that nothing Jaime does in Season 8 will be more "weird and wrong" than what we've already seen.
"Game of Thrones" Season 8 is expected to premiere in 2019.
