'Gilmore Girls' Will Be Available Worldwide on Netflix in July
"Gilmore Girls" fans across the globe will soon have easy access to the beloved mother-daughter dramedy, with Netflix announcing this week that the show will be made available across all its platforms worldwide beginning in July.
The streaming service got an assist from Lorelai Gilmore herself -- a.k.a. Lauren Graham -- in announcing the news, revealing that the first seven seasons of the show will now be available for all subscribers in more than 130 countries. "Gilmore Girls" officially goes global on July 1. (It hit the U.S. version of Netflix back in October 2014.)
"Anyplace you can watch Netflix, you can watch 'Gilmore Girls,'" Graham explained in the announcement video, which features the signature "la-la" soundtrack from the original "Gilmore" series run. Graham also noted that the move was timed to the release of the four brand-new mini-movie episodes of "Gilmore Girls" that are due to hit Netflix later this year. (Though there's still no word on an official release date, sadly.)
"We can't wait," Graham said of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," a sentiment we heartily endorse.
"Welcome to Stars Hollow," she added. "Careful -- we talk fast."
The revival series features the return of Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Sean Gunn, Liza Weil, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czruchry, and Jared Padalecki, among many, many other original cast members. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.
