'Halt and Catch Fire' Renewed for Fourth and Final Season on AMC
On the day of the season 3 finale of "Halt and Catch Fire," AMC has announced it is renewing the critically-acclaimed, but low-rated, drama for a fourth and final season.
The series, set in the '80s amid the rising computing industry, will finish its run with 10 episodes. Presumably, stars Lee Pace, Scoot McNairy, Mackenzie Davis, and Kerry Bishé and will return for the final chapter.
"Halt and Catch Fire" debuted as AMC hits "Breaking Bad" and Mad Men" wound down, but it never captivated audiences (nor Emmy voters) as those two dramas did. Still, it was a favorite with critics.
"We are so proud of 'Halt and Catch Fire' — a true passion project — and thank the critics and fans who have embraced this unique program," said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. "It is our great pleasure to renew this project for a fourth and final season, so we can all tune in to see if Cameron, Donna and the rest of the gang turn Swap Meet into eBay, Amazon or Facebook."
