'Homeland' Season 8 Is Officially the End, Says Showtime President and CEO
It's finally officially: "Homeland" is concluding with Season 8.
Fans have had ample warning that the Showtime series was gearing up for its final season, and now the network has confirmed the news. Showtime President and CEO David Nevins announced it during a TCA event on Monday, Variety reports. Nevins even highlighted that the fan base had already heard that Season 8 was set to be the show's last from star Claire Danes and showrunner Alex Gansa.
Gary Levine, Showtime's programming president, was also present at the event, and he celebrated the quality of the show. He called Season 7 "one of its best ever" and said that "Homeland" is "not limping into the sunset." It sounds like we can expect another exciting season of Carrie Mathison's covert adventures when the series returns.
Now that the news is official, Showtime is promoting the upcoming Season 8 as the final season. The "Homeland" Twitter account teased Monday that "the final mission starts June 2019."
It's quite a wait, but we'll look forward to the eighth and final season of "Homeland" in June 2019.
