'Homeland' Is Moving Locations For Season 7
"Homeland" is packing up and moving.
For Season 7, Showtime drama is moving production to central Virginia. The first three seasons filmed in North Carolina, Season 4 filmed in South Africa (as a stand-in for Pakistan), and Season 5 filmed in Berlin. The sixth season shot and took place in New York City.
The move to central Virginia seems to indicate that the action will move to Washington D.C., as the newly-elected President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) takes office. Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) could be contemplating a job with Keane, whom she advised after the election. And it's possible Saul (Mandy Patinkin) could take the reins at the CIA.
"We're thrilled to bring the production of Homeland to the great state of Virginia," said series executive producer/showrunner Alex Gansa. "Its cities and neighborhoods and people will surely provide a rich backdrop for our story, and we in turn aim to provide a small but hopefully significant boost to the local economy."
In addition to Danes, Patinkin, and Keane, Linus Roache will return as Keane's advisor. F. Murray Abraham's involvement is unclear, since Dar Adal was last seen in prison. And Rupert Friend will not be back, barring any kind of miracle resurrection for Peter Quinn.
