Reaching nirvana—defined as absolutely blessedness or the hit alternative music group—was a lot easier than Hugh Jackman ever imagined while filming "Pan."

The actor-singer, who portrays the pirate Blackbeard, says that one of the most memorable parts of working on the live-action adventure flick is a musical homage to Nirvana's popular song "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

“I will never forget that day filming for the rest of my life," Jackman tells Made in Hollywood. "I think one of the funniest parts of it is seeing a whole bunch of 11-year-old kids singing that song—stomping, shouting, cheering—having no idea what they’re singing about."

Indeed, most of the youngsters on the "Pan" cast weren't even a glimmer in their parents' minds when the hit grunge anthem was released in 1991.

Still, the world of "Pan," after all, is fantasy and defies convention.

"Immediately we set up Neverland as this world that is the imagination of a child," Jackman explains. "With the whole movie seen from the point of that 11-year-old where everything is swordfights, magic, adventure and wonder—danger. Anything could happen. When Joe (Joe Wright, director) came up with that I idea, I said, ‘sign me up.’”

“Pan,” the live-action, very grim re-imagining of Disney’s 1953 animated film stars youngster Levi Miller in the titular role–fulfilling a prophecy as the boy leader who will bring the downfall of Jackman’s villain Blackbeard. Costarring Garrett Hedlund as Hook and Rooney Mara as Tiger Lilly.
