The streaming service announced Monday that "Frontier" will premiere on Jan. 20 with six episodes. Set in 1700s Canada, the historical drama follows warring groups attempting to control the fur trade. Momoa plays Declan Harp, a ruthless trader. He is joined by Landon Liboiron, Alun Armstrong, Zoe Boyle, Allan Hawco, Jessica Matten, and Shawn Doyle.
The series is co-created by Rob and Peter Blackie and directed by Brad Peyton ("San Andreas"). While it will be new to U.S. viewers come January, "Frontier" premiered on Nov. 6 on Discovery Canada. The show has been met with enthusiasm in our neighbor to the north, and its Season 2 renewal has already come.
Prepare to binge-watch, Momoa fans, whether or not the actor does ultimately reprise his role as Drogo.
