Kristin Chenoweth's 5 Favorite Family Comedies
Glee" and "Pushing Daisies." Now, she's starring in the dramedy "Hard Sell" as unstable mom Lorna. To celebrate her new film, Chenoweth shared her five all-time favorite family comedies. "Hard Sell" hits theaters, VOD, and iTunes on Friday, May 20th.
'Vacation' (1983)
"I think all the 'Vacation' movies with Chevy Chase are incredible, but I’m always going to love Beverly D’Angelo. It was the first time we have ever seen a normal family go insane trying to go on a vacation. [My family] had a similar experience one time trying to go to Colorado."
'RV' (2006)
"I realize I was in it, but Robin Williams was so funny and it’s been 10 years since. Whenever it’s on, I always watch it because of him. Cheryl Hines and Jeff Daniels were so funny in it. A vacation in an RV doesn’t get any better than this."
'The Sound of Music' (1965)
"We, as a family, used to sit down every year and watch 'The Sound of Music.' I know that was partly done because of my love of musicals, but everybody in our family loved the film as well. My dad certainly loved Captain von Trapp, Christopher Plummer, obviously, and I loved the gorgeous Julie Andrews. It just stands the test of time, and it’s Rodgers and Hammerstein at their best."
'Babe' (1995)
"I also like the movie 'Babe,' because, obviously, I love animals. I loved that they were able to act with real animals -- I thought those had to be long days trying to get them to behave the way you want them to. I actually thought the actors in it were so good, too. It was a story that really touched my heart. Whenever it’s on I always watch it."
'Toy Story' Series
"I love the 'Toy Story' series. I love 'Toy Story 2' especially because I loved Annie Potts in the movie. And I love the Sarah McLachlan’s song 'When Somebody Loved Me.'"
