Michelle Yeoh Joins 'Crazy Rich Asians' Co-Star Henry Golding in 'Last Christmas'
The upcoming holiday rom-com "Last Christmas" has added another "Crazy Rich Asians" star.
Acclaimed actress Michelle Yeoh has boarded the project, Variety reports. The move means she'll again co-star with Henry Golding, who played her son in the hit summer film "Crazy Rich Asians." Yeoh's new cast mates also include "Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke.
Directed by Paul Feig, the film is written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings. It centers on a London woman named Kate (Clarke), who has a history of making poor decisions. She'll apparently be working as an elf at a year-round Christmas store when she meets a man named Tom (Golding), whom she finds suspiciously perfect. We don't know how Yeoh fits into the story at this point, but as Golding said in a tweet, adding her into the already-talented mix means the movie will be "ridonkulous."
The prolific actress stars in films in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and she has an impressive body of work. Some of the English-language films she's best known for include 2000's "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," 2005's "Memoirs of a Geisha," 2017's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," and the aforementioned "Crazy Rich Asians." She recently also had a recurring role in "Star Trek: Discovery" Season 1.
"Last Christmas" is scheduled for release on Nov. 15, 2019.
