11 Things You (Probably) Don't Know About Leslie Mann
Leslie Mann is a comedy queen, no doubt about it! The beloved actress has been bringing smiles and laughter to audience all over the world since her big movie debut in 1996. Although you may consider her to be among the "well-known" in Hollywood, there is one A-List actress who doesn't even remember meeting the "The Comedian" star. Can you guess who? Here are 11 things you probably didn't know about Leslie Mann.
1. California Girl
Mann was born on March 26th, 1972, in San Francisco, California. She, her mother, and siblings eventually relocated to SoCal, where she attended Corona del Mar High School.
2. Come Correct
Make sure you never refer to Ms. Mann as "Lez-lee," because she HATES that. The actress prefers when people pronounce her name "Less-lee." And don't you forget it!
3. Taste the Feeling
Mann got her start in showbiz by appearing in several commercials. The first gig she ever landed was for Coca-Cola.
4. Hitting the Big Time
Mann's first big-screen project was a role in "The Cable Guy" in 1996, where she played Matthew Broderick's girlfriend.
5. She's Got It
While filming for "The Cable Guy," the movie's star, Jim Carrey, often told Mann that she reminded him of a modern-day Marlene Dietrich. Do you agree?
6. Unexpected Love
It was also on the set of "The Cable Guy" that Mann met her husband, Judd Apatow -- but it wasn't quite love at first sight. Mann has since admitted that she originally was crushing hardcore on Ben Stiller, the movie's director.
7. Working Family
Her husband isn't the only family member that she has appeared on-screen with. Mann's daughters, Maude and Iris, made appearances in "Knocked Up" as well as "This Is 40."
8. Let Your Voice Be Heard
Not only have you seen Mann acting on the big screen, you've heard her voicing several animated characters. Some of her voiceover roles were in films such as "Rio," "Rio 2," and "ParaNorman."
9. Young Shopper
Mann once revealed that her parents allowed her to take a cab to the mall ALONE at the young age of nine. What in the world could a nine-year-old want to do at the mall, you ask? Well, Mann says she wanted to buy candy and "sit on the furniture at Sears."
10. Famous BFFs
Mann said she became BFFs with Cameron Diaz while they worked on "The Other Woman." The funny part? That wasn't the first time that they met. Turns out the duo met almost 20 years ago, but Diaz didn't remember her. Ouch.
