Like Daryl, 'The Walking Dead' Fans Feel Tortured by 'Easy Street' Song
Ugh. Is it still in your head, too? Last night, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 tortured Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and the audience with a constant loop of the unrelentingly cheerful song "Easy Street," by the band The Collapsable Hearts Club:Even the song's writer, Jim Bianco, was surprised to hear it on the show, but ultimately told the Independent the decision was "genius":
"I didn't really understand why a show like 'The Walking Dead' would want to use such an upbeat over-the-top, in your face 'happy' song but now I understand - to torture someone, of course."
Poor Daryl was definitely tortured in "The Cell," forced to eat dog food, look at a photo of bashed-in Glenn, wear the letter "A" -- which gives us Terminus and little Sam flashbacks -- and now face whatever is next from Negan since he refused to join the We Are All Negan cult. But the worst torture was having to listen to that earworm over and over, and we are still suffering.
TWD fans had a lot to say about #EasyStreet, which ended up trending on Twitter, and was further mocked (with love!) on "Talking Dead":

Of course, some fans didn't mind it ... but they might not mind dog food sandwiches either:
Episode's been over for more than 2 hours & I still have the song stuck in my head. Is it sad I kinda like it? #EasyStreet@WalkingDead_AMC

This coming Episode 4 is supersized to 85-90 minutes (it'll probably only be about 20 minutes after commercials) with Negan arriving at Alexandria for the first time. If he brings that "Easy Street" song with him, Michonne will probably launch All Out War right then and there.
"The Walking Dead" Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
