Will Smith Shares Live-Action 'Aladdin' Remake's First Poster
Choose wisely!
Will Smith shared the first poster for Disney's live-action remake of its 1992 animated classic "Aladdin." Smith is playing the role of Genie, memorably voiced by Robin Williams in the original.
Mena Massoud stars as the titular Agrabah thief who falls for the Sultan's daughter, Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott), and aims to use the three wishes granted by the Genie to woo her.
Smith joked in the caption, “LEMME OUT!! Can’t wait for y’all to see me BLUE!”
Guy Ritchie is directing the film (really, we swear). Original composer Alan Menken is teaming up with Oscar-winning "La La Land" songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul to add two new songs to the movie. Of course, "A Whole New World" will be included. The 1992 version won the Oscar for Best Song as well as the Grammy Award for Song of the Year (the only Disney tune that has accomplished that feat).
"Aladdin" opens May 24, 2019.
