Maisie Williams Saved a Piece of 'Game of Thrones' History to Show Her Grandkids
A girl has finished filming "Game of Thrones," and so she took a piece of it with her.
After wrapping on the hit HBO fantasy drama's final season, Maisie Williams earmarked a special item to bring home: Arya Stark's brown doublet jacket. She discussed her keepsake Wednesday on "The Radio 1 Breakfast Show," and it's something she clearly prizes. She told host Nick Grimshaw that she expects to show it to her grandchildren someday.
"I can imagine it being something that I'm like, 'Oh, I was in this show once upon a time and this was the jacket I wore,'" she said. "And my grandkids are like ... 'Please stop.'"
Her hypothetical descendants might not be moved, but we are. Williams grew up playing Arya Stark; as she mentioned to Grimshaw, she was only 12 when she auditioned for the role. She should have something to remember her fearless character by, and it's probably safer that it's Arya's jacket rather than her sword, Needle.
And now, as touched as we are that Williams has an item to remember the show by, we're saddened by the reminder it's ending.
"Game of Thrones" Season 8 will close out the series in 2019.
