Powers Connect in First Trailer for Marvel's 'Cloak and Dagger' Freeform Series
Superheroes are taking over Freeform.
The cable network unveiled trailers and details about upcoming series at its upfront presentation to advertisers, including its two Marvel shows.
"New Warriors" unveiled a character listing, while "Cloak and Dagger" debuted an intense teaser introducing the two superpowered teens at its heart.
Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) discover they wield powers that are mysteriously connected to each other. She can produce light daggers, while he can cast darkness over people. They also develop feelings for each other, complicating their lives even more.
The trailer is mostly filled with teen angst, as Ty and Tandy both chafe against their parents. But more nefarious forces are lurking in the background, and they'll have to combine their powers to fight them. "Cloak and Dagger" is expected to premiere in early 2018.
Freeform also released a character rundown for "New Warriors," the half-hour live-action comedy set to debut next year. They include the previously announced Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl), as well as Craig Hollis (Mister Immortal), Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher), Robbie Baldwin (Speedball), Zack Smith (Microbe), and Deborah Fields (Debrii).
