Matt Damon Will Only Play a Superhero If Ben Affleck Directs the Movie
Though Matt Damon doesn't think he'll ever suit up as the Robin to Ben Affleck's Batman in the newly-rebooted hero's upcoming DC standalone flicks, that doesn't mean he won't ever consider joining his best buddy in the superhero realm. But Damon does have one condition before he considers donning tights and a cape himself.
In an interview with the Irish Examiner in promotion of the new "Jason Bourne" flick, Damon said he was reluctant to take on a superhero role in today's comic-saturated movie market, though he would "consider anything with the right director." And it just so happens he has the perfect person in mind.
"If he (Ben) was directing me, I'd jump on it in a New York minute," Damon told the Examiner. "I'd love to work with Ben."
Just don't expect that to happen anytime soon, though.
"The problem with Ben is every time he directs a movie, he gives himself the best role in it, so until he's willing to give up the best role to one of his friends, we're not going to get on with it," Damon deadpanned.
We think it'd be pretty perfect for the real-life BFFs to team up on the big screen again as superheroes, fighting crime one chiseled jawline and Boston accent at a time. We'll just have to wait and see if Affleck is willing to share the DC limelight with his pal.
