McDreamy's Next Movie: Patrick Dempsey in Talks For 'Bridget Jones's Baby'
Bridget Jones is about to meet another dashing, handsome man with a great head of hair — McDreamy!
Deadline reports that Patrick Dempsey is in talks to star in "Bridget Jones's Baby," the follow-up to 2001's "Bridget Jones's Diary" and 2004's "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason."Renee Zellweger will once again play the titular character, and Colin Firth is set to reprise his role as Mark Darcy.
Dempsey's schedule is free to make movies now that — SPOILER ALERT — his "Grey's Anatomy" character, Derek Shepherd, was killed off last season.
While the plot details of "Bridget Jones's Baby" are unknown, it's safe to assume that Bridget is pregnant or already has a baby. At the end of "Edge of Reason," Mark proposed to Bridget, so they may be married already. Or as anyone familiar with Bridget would know, the pregnancy might be an "oops." As for Dempsey's possible part in the movie, he could fill the shoes of Hugh Grant, who won't be returning as the debonair bad boy Daniel Cleaver.
