Chilling 'Mr. Robot' Season 4 Image and Poem Drop
At long last, the fourth and final season of "Mr. Robot" is coming, and now we have a first-look image -- and a poem. The show's social media accounts unveiled the image on Thursday, with multiple tweets leading up to it on Wednesday that together form an interesting poem. They tell a story of corruption, crimes, and a brewing revolution.
The tweets are basically a "Mr. Robot" version of the classic Christmas poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," which is very intentional. The show's creator, Sam Esmail, previously announced at the Tribeca Film Festival (via Deadline) that the final season of "Mr. Robot" would be "one very long Christmas special that will last about a week over Christmas of 2015."
Here's the full Twitter thread:
‘Twas the winter of 2015, mere months after the hack,
And Evil Corp’s stock prices were starting to bounce back.
The top 1% slept snug in their beds,
As dreams of corruption danced in their heads.— Mr. Robot (@whoismrrobot) May 22, 2019
You see, brothers and sisters, they’d fallen on hard times,
Those corporate pigs finally paid the price of their crimes.
Now, they thought, the year was at a merciful end,
But they were wrong. So very wrong, friend.— Mr. Robot (@whoismrrobot) May 22, 2019
Their error was simple. Their thoughts empty-hearted.
They forgot about us and the revolution we’d started.
They mistook our silence, for defeat or for fear,
Without ever realizing our wrath was still near.— Mr. Robot (@whoismrrobot) May 22, 2019
So, while they slept with wallets bloated and swollen,
We prepared to take back everything that they’d stolen.
And this time, they won’t survive our onslaught.
The ones playing God will perish and rot.— Mr. Robot (@whoismrrobot) May 22, 2019
One last time, come fight for our revolution,
Make those in control suffer swift retribution.
Then, brothers and sisters, we’ll sing till we ache:
“We are fsociety, and we are finally awake!”https://t.co/aXUmgXZk8U#MrRobotpic.twitter.com/eBugPMl8DP— Mr. Robot (@whoismrrobot) May 23, 2019
The final tweet also includes a website, where fans can presumably dig around for clues. That will help fill the time until "Mr. Robot" Season 4 returns. The show's premiere isn't until later this year.
