Nathan Fillion Is 'a Walking Midlife Crisis' in ABC's Trailer for 'The Rookie'
What would Beckett think of this?
"Castle" alum Nathan Fillion is returning to ABC this fall in the new series "The Rookie."
ABC just released its 2018-2019 schedule, placing "The Rookie" on Tuesday nights. The network also shared the show's official trailer, featuring Fillion as the titular Los Angeles Police Department rookie, John Nolan.
The cast also includes Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, Titus Makin as Jackson West, Mercedes Mason as Captain Zoe Andersen, Melissa O'Neil as Lucy Chen, Afton Williamson as Talia Bishop, and Eric Winter as Tim Bradford.
According to TVLine, Melissa O'Neil's Lucy is a fellow LAPD rookie who develops a romance with Fillion's character over the course of Season 1.
Here's the synopsis for the show:
"Starting over isn't easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force's oldest rookie, he's met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can't keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he'll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life."
Check out the trailer:"The Rookie" will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. starting this fall (premiere date to be announced later) on ABC.
