'NCIS' to Return For Season 16 After Mark Harmon Signs New Deal
"NCIS" will celebrate its Sweet 16 next year. Star and executive producer Mark Harmon signed a new deal to return to the CBS procedural drama, paving the way for Season 16.
Although its ratings are down this season, "NCIS" is still the CBS' No. 1 drama series in both total viewers (averaging 17 million) and in adults 18-49. It's No. 3 in total viewers among all broadcast series.
Harmon will receive a salary raise that will continue to make him one of TV's highest paid actors. Last September, Forbes ranked him at No. 7 with $19 million a year.
He also executive produces the show's two spinoffs, "NCIS: LA" and "NCIS: New Orleans," which are both likely to get picked up for another season.
With the exit of Pauley Perrette at the end of this season, Harmon will be the only original cast member left, along with David McCallum. The show added Maria Bellow and Wilmer Valderrama in recent years.
