Netflix Comedy 'Slutty Teenage Bounty Hunters' Finds Its Two Leads
Alert the Parents Television Council: Maddie Phillips ("Van Helsing," "Supernatural)" and Anjelica Bette Fellini ("The Gifted") have been tapped to star in a new Netflix comedy called "Slutty Teenage Bounty Hunters."
The series is from Kathleen Jordan ("American Princess") and Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann of "Orange Is the New Black" and "GLOW."
The series is about two 16-year-old fraternal twin sisters who join forces with veteran bounty hunter Bowser Simmons (Kadeem Hardison) while also juggling complicated affairs of love and sex.
It's kind of ironic given the show's name and content, that they'll be shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, despite Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos having previously stated that the streaming giant would "rethink our entire investment in Georgia" if the state's controversial "heartbeat abortion bill," was passed.
The production will be making a donation to something called The Autonomy Fund, according to Deadline. (Perhaps they mean the Magnolia Fund?)
Robert Sudduth ("On My Block," "American Princess") serves as showrunner and executive produces the series with Jordan and Kohan.
Jordan and Sudduth said, "This show is really about two young women trying to live their lives by their own rules, haters be damned. We can’t wait for the world to meet Sterling and Blair. And as for the title, 'Sex Positive Teenage Bounty Hunters' didn’t have the same ring."
Jesse Peretz ("Girls") will direct the pilot.
