New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital

"Logan"
Hugh Jackman returns for his final Wolverine movie -- and it's a beauty -- with backup from Patrick Stewart's Professor X and a new young mutant played by Dafne Keen. A favorite with critics and fans, "Logan" will be available for Digital HD download on Tuesday, May 16, and then 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD next Tuesday, May 23. The Blu-ray includes "Logan Noir," a black-and-white version of the film; plus about 90 minutes of original bonus content, including "Making Logan," a behind-the-scenes documentary, plus deleted scenes and audio commentary from director James Mangold.

"The LEGO Batman Movie"
Everything is awesome in Will Arnett's LEGO Batman spinoff, arriving on Digital HD this Friday, May 19, well ahead of the DVD, Blu-ray and 4K release on June 13. The many extras include about a half dozen behind-the-scenes featurettes, several original animation shorts, "The Master: A LEGO Ninjago Short," social promos, and more.

"Extortion"
In this action-thriller, arriving on DVD, Digital, and On Demand May 16, Kevin Riley (Eion Bailey) and his family take a carefree boat ride at a Caribbean resort that turns tragic when they're stranded on an island. Barkhad Abdi, Danny Glover, and Bethany Joy Lenz co-star in the movie, whose home release includes "The Making of Extortion" and director's commentary. Check out this exclusive clip from the making-of featurette, with director Phil Volken talking about the challenges of filming on the water:"The Shack"
Sam Worthington, Octavia Spencer, and Tim McGraw star in this story of faith and love, based on the worldwide best-selling novel, available on Digital HD May 16, then on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand May 30. "The Shack" special features include audio commentary with director Stuart Hazeldine, five behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a deleted scene.

New on Netflix

"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" Season 3 (Netflix Original)They still alive, dammit! Ellie Kemper's Kimmy Schmidt returns this Friday, May 19, with Season 3 picking up two months after the Season 2 finale cliffhanger -- Kimmy getting a call from her former captor, Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne (Jon Hamm), to say they are married and he now wants a divorce. Titus, Jacqueline, and Lillian will be back, too, and we can only hope Titus is ready to regale us with more tales of Peenooooooo Noir.

"The Keepers" (Netflix Original)This seven-part documentary series about the unsolved murder of Baltimore nun Sister Cathy Cesnik may be Netflix's next "Making a Murderer." Sister Cathy went missing on Nov. 7, 1969; nearly two months later, her body was found, but questions remain. Get caught up in the mystery starting May 19.

"Sherlock" Series 4
There are only three episodes to "Sherlock" Season, er Series 4, but they are incredibly intense, emotional, and maybe a bit confounding. Watch Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, and company on Netflix starting May 15.

"Riverdale" Season 1
The 13 episodes of Season 1 just finished airing on The CW on May 11, but you can already stream the whole mystery on Netflix just a week later on May 18.

TV Worth Watching

"Twin Peaks: The Return" (Sunday on Showtime at 9 p.m.)
Get yourself some pie and coffee and prepare to settle in for the return of "Twin Peaks," including OG star Kyle MacLachlan as FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. David Lynch is bringing his cult 1990-1991 series back for 18 new episodes on Showtime, starting with a two-hour episode on May 21. According to Deadline, Lynch filmed the season as one long movie, but then decided to cut the material into episodes. After the May 21 debut, that premiere and two more episodes will be available for online streaming, then the series will just air in weekly increments on Showtime. The series will conclude September 3 with a two-part finale.

"Downward Dog" (Wednesday on ABC at 9:30 p.m.)
Allison Tolman ("Fargo") stars in this new network comedy premiering Wednesday but then moving to its regular time period of Tuesdays at 8 p.m. starting May 23. Based on a web series, the show follows the day-to-day life of Nan, as told by her lonely dog, Martin (voiced by Samm Hodges).

"The Wizard of Lies" (Saturday on HBO at 8 p.m.)
Robert De Niro plays Bernie Madoff, with Michelle Pfeiffer as his wife Ruth, in HBO Films' examination of Madoff's Ponzi scheme fraud and the cover-up attempt that followed. The all-star cast includes Alessandro Nivola as Mark Madoff, Bernie and Ruth's oldest son, and Nathan Darrow as Andrew Madoff, their youngest son, both of whom worked with their father at his investment firm. Kristen Connolly, Lily Rabe, and Hank Azaria co-star. After the May 20 premiere, the film -- directed by Barry Levinson -- will also be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand, and affiliate portals.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter"Milla Jovovich returns as zombie slayer Alice, who is forced to return to The Hive, where her story began, in this sixth and final installment in the "Resident Evil" saga. Check it out on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack on May 16. Bonus materials include two behind-the-scenes featurettes, "Explore the Hive" and "The Badass Trinity & The Women of Resident Evil." The Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and digital releases include a sneak peek at the upcoming CG animated feature "Resident Evil: Vendetta"; a featurette exploring the "Stunts & Weaponry" highlighted in the film; and "Retaliation Mode," a way for fans to extend their movie watching experience.

"xXx: Return of Xander Cage"
Recruited back into action when a group of lethal mercenaries steal a hi-tech weapon that poses a global threat, Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) leads a team of death-defying adrenaline junkies on a mission to save the day. Donnie Yen Ji-Dan, Deepika Padukone, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Nina Dobrev, and Rory McCann star in the action film, which x-plodes on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and On Demand May 16. The Blu-ray includes a gag reel, and featurettes on the cast, stunts, location, and making of this third movie in the "xXx" franchise.
