New on DVD and Blu-ray
• "Baby Driver"
Put in your earbuds, put the pedal to the metal, and rock along with star Ansel Elgort in director Edgar Wright's blockbuster action thriller, which is out on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray combo pack on Tuesday, October 10. Fans can enjoy two hours of bonus features, including 20 minutes of deleted and extended scenes and several behind-the-scenes featurettes on the music, car chases, cast, choreography, and more. • "The Beguiled"
Sofia Coppola won Best Director at Cannes for this historical drama/thriller, based on the novel by Thomas Cullinan, starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning. It's out on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand October 10, including several behind-the-scenes featurettes on the performances, production design, and more.
• "Pilgrimage"
Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, and Richard Armitage star in this action film following a young Irish novice, a devoted group of monks, and a former Crusader who face deadly challenges while trying to transport a holic relic to Rome. The film is out on DVD and Blu-ray on October 10, including five behind-the-scenes featurettes, interviews with the cast and crew, a photo gallery, and a poster gallery.
• Redbox: New titles coming to Redbox October 10 include "Baby Driver," "The Mummy," "Wish Upon," "Armed Response," "Once Upon a Time in Venice," "Deep," "Open Water 3: Cage Dive," "Maudie," "Circus Kane," and "Coffin 2."
New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital
• "War for the Planet of the Apes"
Apes. Together. Strong. The third film in the blockbuster franchise will be released on Digital HD on October 10, then 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD, on October 24. Bonus features include 10 deleted scenes with audio commentary with director Matt Reeves, plus six in-depth featurettes on the making of the movie.
• "Lady-Like"
Stephanie Simbari, Allie Gallerani, Olivia Luccardi, and Beverly D'Angelo star in this coming-of-age comedy, available digitally on October 10 and via special event screenings across the country soon after. "Lady-Like" follows Allie (Simbari), a hilarious loudmouth and brilliant introvert who struggles to find her place at a prestigious university.
• "Dementia 13"
In this horror-thriller, in theaters October 6 and available on VOD and Digital HD October 10, "a vengeful ghost, a mysterious killer, and a family where everyone has a secret converge in one night of terror in this remake of Francis Ford Coppola's first feature film." Channing Pickett, Marianne Noscheze, Christian Ryan, Julia Campanelli, and Ana Isabelle star in the movie, and you can watch the trailer here.
• "Lore" Season 1 (Amazon Original)
Amazon is launching this six-episode unscripted horror anthology series, based on the popular podcast of the same name, on Friday, Oct. 13. The scary true-life series blends reenactments (including Colm Feore and Campbell Scott), narration, animation, and historical documents. Watch if you dare!
• "Chance" Season 2 (Hulu Original)
Hugh Laurie is back for 10 more episodes as neuropsychiatrist Eldon Chance in Season 2 of Hulu's original series. The Season 2 premiere, called "Multiaxial System," streams Wednesday, Oct. 11 with this synopsis: "Chance ministers to patients at the Victims of Violent Crimes Unit by day, but at night he and D (Ethan Suplee) assault the victimizers; Det. Hynes blackmails Chance to use his skills to take down a suspected serial killer." Check out the trailer here.
• "Brawl in Cell Block 99"
Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Carpenter, Udo Kier, and Don Johnson star in this action thriller that hit theaters October 6 and is available on VOD and Digital HD this Friday, Oct. 13. "A former boxer named Bradley loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to expire. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This improves his situation until the terrible day that he finds himself in a gunfight between a group of police officers and his own ruthless allies. When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground."

• "Mindhunter" Season 1 (Netflix Original Series)
Producer/director David Fincher returns to his serial killer wheelhouse ("Seven," "Zodiac") for this Netflix series based on the book "Mind Hunter: Inside The FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit." Set in the late 1970s, the series follow two FBI agents (Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany) who "expand criminal science by delving into the psychology of murder and getting uneasily close to all-too-real monsters." The monsters arrive on Friday, October 13. Here's the trailer:• "Kingdom of Us" (Netflix Original Documentary)

Noah Baumbach directed this drama/comedy with an all-star cast led by Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Candice Bergen, Elizabeth Marvel, Adam Driver, Sigourney Weaver, Rebecca Miller, and Judd Hirsch. "Grudges and rivalries abound as three adult siblings converge in New York to contend with their prickly artist father, and his fading legacy." Human sacrifice with hot people "slashes" its way onto Netflix this Friday, Oct. 13: "When Cole stays up past his bedtime, he discovers that his hot babysitter is part of a satanic cult that will stop at nothing to keep him quiet." Watch the trailer over here.
• "Super Monsters" Season 1 (Netflix Original Series)
If you have any little ones in your life, and they need something fun and spooky to watch before Halloween, Netflix is dropping this new kids' series on Friday the 13th: "Preschool kids whose parents are the world's most famous monsters try to master their special powers while preparing for kindergarten."
TV Worth Watching
• "Supergirl," the Arrowverse, & new/returning The CW shows
It's a bird! It's a plane! It's The CW shows returning all in the same week! "Supergirl" (Monday) "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" and "The Flash" (Tuesday), and "Arrow" (Thursday) all start their new seasons this week. "Riverdale" (Wednesday) also returns this week, along with "Jane the Virgin" and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (Friday). This week also marks the debut of the new series "Valor" (Monday) and the "Dynasty" reboot (Wednesday).
• "Mr. Robot" Season 3 (Wednesday on USA at 10 p.m.)
"The revolution won't go down without a fight." Rami Malek returns as the more-confused-than-ever Elliot in season_3.0, which premieres October 11. In "Eps3.0power-saver-mode.h," "Elliot realizes his mission, and needs help from Angela (Portia Doubleday); Darlene (Carly Chaikin) worries about them coming out clean." Check out the trailer here.
• "Frontline: War on the EPA" (Wednesday on PBS at 10 p.m.)
"Frontline" is continuing its in-depth documentaries this month with "War on the EPA," investigating how Scott Pruitt went from fighting the EPA to running the agency and rolling back years of policy. This doc examines the conservative political forces and causes, like climate change skepticism, that propelled Pruitt's takeover of the EPA. "With Pruitt now leading the federal agency he sued 14 times as Oklahoma's attorney general, 'War on the EPA' is an inside look at the triumphant ascent of the anti-regulatory movement in America."
