New on DVD and Blu-ray

"Beauty and the Beast"
Be our guest to own the special 25th Anniversary Edition of "Beauty and the Beast" when it arrives on Blu-ray September 20. The 1991 film was the first animated feature film to be nominated for Best Picture, and today the tale as old as time looks better than ever. The new edition features four versions of the movie: the Blu-ray has the original theatrical film, an extended version with the "Human Again" song sequence, and a never-before-released on home entertainment sing-along version; the original work-in-progress version is also available digitally and on Disney Movies Anywhere. There are also several bonus extras, including a gathering around the piano with composers Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, and Lin-Manuel Miranda; a look at how Walt Disney himself sought to adapt this famous fairytale; a look back with Paige O'Hara, the voice of Belle; behind-the-scenes access into the recording booth with the cast; and a sneak peek at Disney's upcoming live-action re-telling of "Beauty and the Beast" with Emma Watson, arriving in theaters in 2017.

"Free State of Jones"
Matthew McConaughey stars as defiant Southern farmer Newt Knight in this untold true story of the local Jones County farmers and slaves who rose up against the Confederacy during the Civil War. The film, written and directed by four-time Oscar nominee Gary Ross, arrives on Blu-ray , DVD, and On Demand on September 20. The home release comes with the bonus feature "The History of Jones County," taking a deeper look into the history of the former battlefield covered by plantations and plagued with class struggle.

"The Good Wife: The Final Season"
Say goodbye to Alicia Florrick, but hello the 22 episodes of "The Good Wife" Season 7, with the series finale's DVD release September 20. And don't forget that a spinoff is coming to CBS All Access, following the great Christine Baranski's Diane Lockhart and Cush Jumbo's fan favorite, Lucca Quinn.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows"
Turtle power is headed to DVD, Blu-ray, and On Demand September 20. In this action sequel -- starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Laura Linney, Stephen Amell, and Tyler Perry -- Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo return to take down villains, alongside April O'Neil and newbie Casey Jones. According to IGN, the Blu-rays include more than 40 minutes of bonus content while the DVD and Blu-ray Combo Pack come with two reversible Turtle Masks in all four colors. The Blu-ray Combo Pack is also available in a collectible metal lunchbox that includes the Blu-ray Combo Pack of 2014's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," Digital HD copies of both movies, and the two reversible masks.

"This Is Us" (Tuesday on NBC at 10 p.m.)
This is *the* week for new and returning shows to start new seasons. The list goes on and on, and includes "The Big Bang Theory," "Gotham," "The Voice," "Kevin Can Wait," "Lucifer," "The Good Place," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "NCIS," "New Girl," "Bull," "Scream Queens," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "NCIS: New Orleans," "The Goldbergs," "Lethal Weapon," "Speechless," "Empire," "Law & Order: SVU," "Modern Family," "black-ish," "Chicago P.D.," "Designated Survivor," "Rosewood," "Superstore," "Chicago Med," "Notorious," "Pitch," "The Blacklist," "How to Get Away With Murder," "Hell's Kitchen," "Last Man Standing," "MacGyver," "Dr. Ken," "The Exorcist," "Hawaii Five-0," "Shark Tank," "Blue Bloods," "Van Helsing," "Bob's Burgers," "Once Upon a Time," "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," "Secrets and Lies," "The Last Man on Earth," and "Quantico."

Phew! And that's not even counting the three shows below or "This Is Us," one of the fall's most anticipated new series (with record-setting trailer views), following a group of 36-year-olds who all share the exact same birthday, and a mysterious connection.

"Survivor" (Wednesday on CBS at 8 p.m.)
Believe it or not, "Survivor" is up to Season 33 -- and it still feels fresh (most of the time). The new theme, "Millennials vs. Gen X," starts September 21. Jeff Probst recently offered four reasons to watch this season, including the one-word tease "Zeke." You might also want to watch because this premiere episode will be followed by the 90-minute "Big Brother 18" finale, starting at 9:30 p.m.

"Grey's Anatomy" (Thursday on ABC at 8 p.m.)
Expect a lot of drama ahead in Season 13, which kicks off September 22. Shonda promised Japril will have a lighter storyline (more of the above, please!), but Jolax does not seem to be so lucky. The season premiere will pick up right where the finale left off, and Entertainment Weekly said the Alex and Jo storyline will play a pretty big role in Episode 1. It's not looking good for either of them, but especially not for Alex. Keep both hands inside the wheel, man!

"Three Days of Terror: The Charlie Hebdo Attacks" (Monday on HBO at 8 p.m.)
Amid all the new show premieres and returns is this serious, searing documentary following the 2015 attack on the Paris offices of weekly satire Charlie Hebdo. Here's more from HBO: "Drawing on exclusive access to hostages, survivors, police, paramilitary forces and intelligence findings and evidence, as well as never-before-seen footage and photographs, Emmy nominee Dan Reed (HBO's "Terror at the Mall") spotlights the courage and resilience of Parisian police and citizens" after a "three-day ordeal that began with an attack by men acting in the name of Al-Qaeda in Yemen and ended with the first ISIS attack in Paris – a chilling precursor of other terrorist acts."

New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital

"The Legend of Tarzan"
The King of the Jungle is available for Digital HD download starting September 20, ahead of the Blu-ray/DVD arrival October 11. Alexander Skarsgård, Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christoph Waltz star in director David Yates's action-adventure, following Tarzan's return to the jungle years after he left Africa behind for a more civilized life with wife Jane. The DVD and Blu-ray include multiple special features, including "Tarzan Reborn," "Battles and Bare Knuckled Brawls," "Tarzan and Jane's Unfailing Love," "Creating the Virtual Jungle," "Gabon to the Big Screen," and a "Stop Ivory" PSA.

"Transparent" (Amazon)
Jeffrey Tambor's Maura Pfefferman is back for Season 3, which is ready for streaming September 23 on Amazon Prime. Here's Amazon's teaser: "The Pfefferman family splinters into disparate journeys on their continued path of self-discovery. After a jarring reality check, Maura seeks to become the woman she envisions through gender confirmation surgery. All paths converge on a family cruise to Mexico, affirming that though their family history is murky, each Pfefferman is their truest self when they come together."

"The Purge: Election Year"
Because the 2016 campaign wasn't enough of a bloody travesty, here's a more literal horror version, with Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) returning as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell), with a mission to protect her during her controversial and contested run for president. It's out on digital September 20, ahead of the DVD and Blu-ray drop October 4. Bonus features include deleted scenes; "Inside The Purge," including interviews with director James DeMonaco and the cast; and a "Character Spotlight" on Leo, following Grillo as he rehearses stunts.

"Zootopia"
Welcome to Zootopia, where Officer Judy Hopps is ready to prove herself as the first bunny on the force, the sloths at the DMV will sloooowwwwly get the job done, and a fast-talking scam-artist fox may be just the guy to help you solve a mystery. Stream Disney's magical family blockbuster on your thingamabob of choice when "Zootopia" hits Netflix September 20.

"Longmire" Season 5 (Netflix Original)
Where does your loyalty lie? Season 5 of this Netflix crime thriller -- set in Big Sky country -- wants to know, and you can answer when it arrives September 23. The new season picks up right after Season 4's dramatic cliffhanger, so get yourself fully caught up before watching the trailer below and streaming the new episodes.
"Portlandia" Season 6
Do Fred and Carrie still want us to put a bird on it? Check out Season 6 starting September 24 on Netflix, just to be sure.

"Iliza Shlesinger: Confirmed Kills" (Netflix Original)
Netflix is continuing its series of original comedy acts, with "Last Comic Standing" winner Iliza Shlesinger getting her own showcase starting September 23. As Netflix teased, "The stand-up sensation tackles TV's 'Shark Tank,' what it means to be a woman and how to deal with the lawless party goblin that lives in us all."

"Audrie & Daisy" (Netflix Original)
Prepare yourself, this one may get you steamed up, conflicted, crying, frustrated -- all the feels. The documentary follows two different girls sexually assaulted on two different nights in two different towns. "Audrie & Daisy takes a hard look at the issues faced by America's teenagers who are coming of age in the new world of social media bullying, spun wildly out of control." It's available September 23.
