"Star Wars,""The Shape of Water,"Andy Serkis, and "Jumanji" were all big winners in PETA's first-ever "Oscats" Awards.

The 2018 Oscars will air next Sunday, March 4, so the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals decided to share their own Hollywood awards. The "Oscats" honor "the movies and stars in 2017 who promoted kindness to animals through positive story lines and the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI)."

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" was honored with Best Computer-Generated Imagery for creating a 100 percent digital jungle of realistic animals. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" earned Best Live-Action Film and Best Original Screenplay for including scenes like Finn and Rose liberating the fathiers used for racing, and Chewbacca's choice not to eat a porg.

Andy Serkis of "War for the Planet of the Apes" and Doug Jones of "The Shape of Water" tied for Best Actor. Here's PETA's praise for their roles:

"Thanks to Andy's brilliant performance as Caesar the chimpanzee, no real great apes were forced to perform for this film. (Are The Square's filmmakers paying attention?) He has also advocated for great apes used in the entertainment industry and campaigned for a chimpanzee languishing at a roadside zoo.

As Amphibian Man, Doug gracefully portrayed the sadness and desperation of being abused and chained—the harsh reality for animals in laboratories and circuses or who are kept chained up in backyards."

"The Shape of Water" boss Guillermo del Toro won Best Director for a film that "encourages equal consideration and kindness for others, without exploiting live animals. Guillermo's brilliant movie 'The Book of Life' also includes pro-veg and anti-bullfighting messages, so we know that he has a soft spot for animals, and we're grateful for that aspect of his work!"

Ryan Gosling was honored for Best Costume in "Blade Runner 2049":

"Ryan's entirely vegan jacket is as gorgeous as he is—and shows that the future of fashion is cruelty-free."

In other awards, "Okja" won Pigs' Choice, and PETA's Pick was a tie between Darren Aronofsky's "mother!" and Greta Gerwig's "Lady Bird." Check out the full list of winners.

At least "mother!" picked up a positive award here; we'll have to see if it "wins" any Razzie Awards when those are handed out next Saturday, the day before the March 4 Oscars.
