'Quantico' Releases Two Series Regulars in Major Shakeup
Extreme makeover, "Quantico" style.
ABC's sophomore FBI drama has released two series regulars as part of a major overhaul. Earlier this week, Yasmine Al Massri, who plays twin recruits Nimah and Raina, existed the show. And now comes word that Pearl Thusi, who joined the cast at the start of Season 2 as lawyer Dayana Mampasi, won't be returning either.
The show is undergoing a creative makeover, with series creator Joshua Safran stepping down as showrunner. His replacement has not been named.
"Quantico" averaged just a bit under 2.8 million viewers per episode and an anemic 0.67 in the 18-49 demographic. It was a bit of a surprise that ABC renewed it for a third season, but it seems the network wants to try to tinker first before giving up entirely on the Priyanka Chopra-led drama. Season 2 did not end on a cliffhanger, except for Chopra's Alex being on the run, so when the show returns, it can start mostly fresh.
